Jupiter Wagons Expands Beyond Railways, Sets Sight on e-LCV Segment

A high-value component supplier in the railways segment, Jupiter Wagons has recently forayed into the e-LCV segment with its maiden 1-tonne product with future plans to introduce more products in the market.

Jupiter Wagons Expands Beyond Railways, Sets Sight on e-LCV Segment

Jupiter Wagons, which is a key supplier of wheels, axles, rolling stock, and braking systems—tailored for the high-speed rail segment, has partnered EA GreenPower to form Jupiter Electric Mobility to leverage technology synergies in the commercial EV segment. 

The company has marked its foray into the EV segment with its 1-tonne e-LCV with a high-voltage architecture and real-world claimed range of up to 190km. According to Vivek Lohia, Managing Director, Jupiter Wagons, "This translates into a much higher range compared to most competitors. We are also offering fast-charging capabitilies on the vehicle with our CCS2 charging platform."

Lohia also reveals details about the company's latest EV assembly line in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, where it has invested Rs 150 crore for an installed capacity of 8,000-10,000 units per annum.
