Revolt Motors, which is a Manesar-based electric two-wheeler startup that is now owned by New Delhi-headquartered RattanIndia Enterprises, is seeing a growing uptake of women riders for its gearless electric motorcycles.
The company says almost 10% of its customer base comprises women, hailing from not just metros, but Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns in the country. While most of these women graduate from an ICE scooter, the added convenience of not needing a trip to the fuel station as welll as minimal downtime for servicing an EV are key drivers pulling women to these gearless electric motorcycles.
According to Anjali Rattan, Chairperson, RattanIndia Enterprises, "An electric motorcycle is very much apt for women riders and while I am not a biker myself, I am passionate about launching new bikes, and getting to know my customer is something that piques my interest."
