ZF has presented its EasyTurn suspension strut axle concept in India, an innovation designed to enhance vehicle maneuverability. This axle design increases the steering angle of conventional front axles from 40-45 degrees to 80 degrees, improving turning capabilities.
EasyTurn improves the agility of larger vehicles, allowing them to navigate tight parking spaces and perform U-turns in confined areas. The system reduces the turning radius of a midsize passenger car by up to 30%, addressing challenges commonly faced in urban driving environments.
The axle is compatible with rear-wheel drive vehicles, including electric cars, and integrates with MacPherson axle systems, used in a significant portion of modern vehicle platforms. This compatibility positions the EasyTurn axle for broad market applicability.
