The Indian School for Design of Automobiles (INDEA), in collaboration with XLRI-Delhi NCR, is participating in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi. This initiative aims to emphasize India’s growing capabilities in automotive design and innovation under the “Design in India, Design for the World” vision championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As India’s first institution dedicated to automobile design and design management, INDEA focuses on bridging the talent gap in the automotive sector. Its efforts align with the country’s ambition to enhance its status as a global innovation hub. By training skilled design professionals, the institution seeks to support economic growth and strengthen India’s position in the international automotive market.
At the Expo, INDEA plans to engage with manufacturers, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore partnerships that can advance India’s design identity and innovation. The institution aims to establish a unique “Indian Design DNA” that reflects the nation’s distinct approach to vehicle design, catering to both domestic and international markets.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Fr. K.S. Casimir, Director of XLRI Delhi-NCR, highlighted the institution’s holistic approach to education, stating that INDEA’s integration into the XLRI ecosystem fosters an awareness of societal and environmental considerations in automotive design. He added that INDEA’s presence at the Expo demonstrates a commitment to creating sustainable and innovative mobility solutions.
Avik Chattopadhyay, Chairperson of the XLRI Centre of Automobile Design and Management (XADM) and Founder of INDEA, emphasized the institution’s role in driving innovation through education and collaboration. He described the Expo as a platform to showcase INDEA’s unique educational model, which combines creativity, industry knowledge, global perspectives, and hands-on experience.
Visitors to INDEA’s booth (Hall 2A, Booth 13A) will gain insights into its curriculum, which focuses on balancing creative intuition with industrial expertise, fostering industry collaboration through live projects, and integrating global best practices. The institution’s efforts are expected to contribute to India’s emergence as a leader in automotive design and innovation.
