Winners of iCreate EVangelise ‘23 awarded Rs 42 lakh to accelerate EV innovations across India

iCreate (International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology) has announced the winners of EVangelise ‘23, the third edition of India’s largest EV innovation challenge. The competition received over 2,700 entries, reflecting a 138% increase from the previous year. The aim of EVangelise ‘23 is to contribute to India’s vision of having electric vehicles represent 80% of all two- and three-wheeler sales by 2030. Winners in different categories received cash prizes, with the total amounting to Rs 15 lakhs for TRL 5 categories and Rs 25 lakhs for TRL 5 & above category. The initiative also revealed winners of the inaugural RISC-V challenge, focusing on applications tailored for EVs. The winners were commended for their contributions to harnessing RISC-V architecture for innovative EV solutions.

Beyond identifying groundbreaking innovations in EV technology, the initiative focuses on connecting innovators with industry partners, providing incubation support, and facilitating access to capital. The program also includes the RISC-V challenge, recognizing outstanding applications tailored for EVs using RISC-V architecture. iCreate is committed to leading innovation in RISC-V and semiconductor technology to shape the future of electric vehicles.

Congratulating the EVangelise ‘23 winners, Avinash Punekar, CEO of iCreate, said, “After two successful editions, EVangelise ‘23 has evolved into the most awaited largest EV innovation challenge in India, with over 2,700 entries. In the TRL 5 & above category of the EVangelise ‘23 initiative, Vijigi Energy Private Limited, a Gujarat-based startup, secured the first place for its Integrated Electrical and Controls Platform designed for Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV). Auklr Technologies Private Limited, based in Bangalore, claimed the second place for its solution specializing in Android-based EV instrument clusters, transforming analog dashboards into feature-rich centers for enhanced safety. The third place was awarded to Blaer Motors, a Chennai-based startup, for developing a smart 500W Motor Controller Unit and a 500W Brushed DC Motor Controller Unit for E-bikes and mopeds.

EVangelise ‘23 spanned over six months, featuring participation from startups and EV innovators representing 20 states and union territories in India. The event provided a platform for showcasing novel solutions addressing real-life challenges in the EV industry under three themes: Traction, Energy and Telematics, and Intelligence and Connectivity (TIC). The initiative aimed to foster innovation and connect participants with industry partners, offering incubation support and access to capital.
