Volkswagen India Launches All-New Tiguan R-Line SUV at ₹48.99 Lakh

Volkswagen India has introduced the all-new Tiguan R-Line, the latest version of its flagship SUV, at an introductory price of ₹48.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Built on the MQB EVO platform, the SUV incorporates a new chassis generation aimed at enhancing driving dynamics and ride comfort. Deliveries are set to begin from 23rd April 2025 through Volkswagen dealerships across the country.

The Tiguan R-Line features design elements inspired by the brand’s R-Line styling. Exterior highlights include LED Plus headlights, a glass-covered front strip, 19-inch "Coventry" alloy wheels, and a horizontal LED light strip at the rear. Inside, the SUV features sport seats with ‘R’ branding, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 30 colour options, brushed stainless steel pedals, and illuminated door handles.

The cabin includes comfort features such as Ergo Active front seats with massage and lumbar support, three-zone Air-Care Climatronic air conditioning, Park Assist Plus, and dual wireless smartphone charging. The vehicle also incorporates a head-up display and the IDA voice assistant for infotainment control.

Powering the new Tiguan R-Line is a 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine that produces 204 PS of power and 320 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The SUV also includes Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC Pro) and a Vehicle Dynamics Manager for improved stability and handling.

On the safety front, the Tiguan R-Line includes 21 Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go functionality, Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring, Lane Assist, and Rear Traffic Alert. The vehicle is equipped with nine airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, hill start and descent assist, front and rear disc brakes, and has received a 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.

Technology features include a 38.1 cm infotainment touchscreen, a 26.04 cm customizable digital cockpit, and a multifunction dial with an integrated TFT LCD display. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and integrates navigation between the central screen and digital cockpit. An eight-speaker sound system is also included.

The Tiguan R-Line is covered under Volkswagen’s 4EVER Care program, which includes a four-year standard warranty, four years of roadside assistance, and three complimentary services. The SUV is available in six colour options: Persimmon Red Metallic, Cipressino Green Metallic, Nightshade Blue Metallic, Grenadilla Black Metallic, Oryx White Pearl, and Oyster Silver Metallic.
