Vayve Mobility to showcase India’s first solar-powered car at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Vayve Mobility, an emerging original equipment manufacturer (OEM), is set to unveil Eva, a compact electric car powered by solar energy, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. The event will take place from January 17 to 22, 2025.

Following its debut at Auto Expo 2023, where Eva drew significant attention, the updated version of the car aims to provide a practical and eco-friendly solution for urban commuting. Designed to address common urban challenges such as traffic congestion, limited parking, and increasing fuel expenses, Eva offers a compact design suitable for city use.

Eva boasts a range of 250 kilometers on a single charge, with an additional annual mileage of up to 3,000 kilometers provided by its solar charging capability. Its high-voltage powertrain enables fast charging, adding 50 kilometers of range in just five minutes. The car can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in five seconds and reach a top speed of 70 km/h. Enhanced driver visibility and a range of smart connectivity features, including smartphone integration, vehicle diagnostics, remote monitoring, and over-the-air updates, further improve the driving experience.

The operational cost of Eva is significantly lower than conventional petrol cars. While petrol vehicles incur an average fuel cost of ₹5 per kilometer, Eva’s cost is approximately ₹0.5 per kilometer due to its lightweight design and efficient engineering. This affordability makes it a viable option for urban households.

Nilesh Bajaj, Co-founder and CEO of Vayve Mobility, stated, “Eva represents a new category of city cars, combining sustainability and practicality. Based on feedback from Auto Expo 2023, we have refined the vehicle to cater to the evolving needs of modern urban consumers.” He also highlighted Eva's focus on integrating solar power and smart connectivity to offer a contemporary mobility solution tailored to city dwellers.

The car’s design aligns with urban commuting patterns in India, where the average daily travel distance is under 35 kilometers and car occupancy rates are typically low. Vayve Mobility aims to fill gaps in the small car segment by offering a vehicle that is efficient and designed for everyday use.
