Urja Mobility, an electric vehicle (EV) battery leasing startup, has announced a partnership with Sieger Technologies to deploy 2,500 advanced batteries for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. The initiative, backed by a ₹10 crore investment from Urja Mobility, aims to address the financial barriers associated with battery ownership and accelerate the transition to sustainable transportation.
The collaboration focuses on introducing a battery leasing model that offers businesses a cost-effective alternative to purchasing batteries outright. This approach is expected to make commercial electric vehicles more accessible, particularly for fleet operators.
Pankaj Chopra, Founder and CEO of Urja Mobility, described the partnership as a step toward making electric mobility more practical and affordable for businesses. "Our ₹10 crore investment in Sieger Technologies will empower fleet operators with reliable, high-performance battery solutions designed to enhance efficiency and sustainability," he said.
The batteries, provided by Sieger Technologies, will feature advanced capabilities, including a smart Battery Management System (BMS) with IoT integration, thermal management, and improved energy efficiency through advanced chemistry cells. These batteries are compatible with a range of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers, and are designed to improve overall vehicle performance and longevity.
Guru Prasanth, Founding Partner of Sieger Technologies, welcomed the partnership, noting that it combines advanced battery technology with an innovative leasing model. He emphasized that this collaboration aims to redefine the EV experience for businesses and consumers alike.
Urja Mobility’s leasing model allows businesses to access Lithium-Ion batteries in various configurations. For three-wheelers, options include 51.2V-100Ah and 200Ah batteries, while for two-wheelers, configurations range from 51.2V-20Ah to 40Ah. All batteries come equipped with fast-charging capabilities, allowing full charges within 2–4 hours.
By converting the high upfront cost of batteries into manageable monthly lease payments, Urja Mobility seeks to reduce the financial burden on businesses. The initiative is expected to encourage greater adoption of electric vehicles, furthering India’s push toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation solutions.
