Toyota Unveils Hilux Black Edition in India with Premium Features and All-Black Design

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced the introduction of a new Hilux Black Edition in India, featuring an all-black themed design while maintaining the vehicle's renowned toughness and capability. The new variant is priced at Rs. 37,90,000 ex-showroom nationwide and will be available for delivery starting March 2025.
The Hilux Black Edition is powered by a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that delivers 500 Nm of torque. It comes equipped with a 4X4 drivetrain for off-road performance and boasts a water wading capacity of 700mm, which Toyota claims is best-in-class.
The vehicle's distinctive black styling elements include a black front radiator grille, front under run, fender garnish, fuel lid garnish, 18-inch black alloy wheels with custom hub caps, and black outside rear-view mirror covers and door handles. The exterior design is complemented by swept-back LED headlights and LED rear combination lamps.
Safety features include seven SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Electronic Differential Lock, Automatic Limited Slip Differential, Hill Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control, and front parking sensors.
Inside, the Hilux Black Edition offers leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an eight-way powered driver seat, and cruise control. Convenience features include smart entry with push-button start, electric adjustable and retractable mirrors, and a reverse parking camera.
According to Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Hilux Black Edition was developed in response to market research indicating consumer demand for vehicles combining power, sophistication, and versatility.
Bookings for the Toyota Hilux Black Edition are now open at all Toyota dealerships across India. Customers can also explore the vehicle through Toyota's Virtual Showroom, which offers a 360-degree digital experience of the vehicle's features.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor operates two manufacturing plants in Bidadi, India, with a total installed production capacity of up to 342,000 units. The company is a joint venture with Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan holding 89% equity and Kirloskar Systems Limited of India holding 11%.
