Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded domestic wholesales of 25,586 units in November 2024, reflecting a 44% growth compared to the 17,818 units sold in November 2023. The company also reported exports of 1,140 units during the month.
For the first eight months of the financial year 2024–25, TKM achieved total sales of 2,19,054 units, representing a 39% increase compared to the 1,63,636 units sold during the same period in the previous fiscal year. The growth was attributed to strong demand for its multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) and sports utility vehicles (SUVs), along with customer-focused initiatives and tailored offerings.
Sabari Manohar, Vice President for Sales, Service, and the Used Car Business at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, expressed satisfaction with the performance, highlighting the company’s diverse portfolio ranging from hatchbacks to SUVs. He noted that two of its key models, the Innova Hycross and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, have each surpassed 1,00,000 units in sales, demonstrating the success of the company’s India-focused product strategy.
Additionally, Toyota has introduced year-end benefits exceeding ₹1 lakh on select models, such as the Urban Cruiser Taisor, Toyota Glanza, and Rumion (excluding CNG variants), available until December 31, 2024. These offers have contributed to maintaining strong sales momentum. The company remains optimistic about closing 2024 with continued focus on enhancing customer experience and meeting evolving market demands.
Moreover, the partnership between Toyota and Maruti Suzuki in India represents a collaboration aimed at leveraging the strengths of both companies to address the evolving automotive market. Established under a mutual agreement, the alliance focuses on product sharing, technology exchange, and joint efforts in developing future mobility solutions.
Through this partnership, Toyota has introduced models such as the Urban Cruiser and Glanza, which are based on Maruti Suzuki’s platforms, while incorporating Toyota’s design elements and branding. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki benefits from Toyota’s global expertise in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, aiding in its transition toward sustainable mobility solutions. This collaboration allows both companies to optimize resources and expand their market presence.
The partnership also extends to exports, with vehicles co-developed under the alliance being shipped to international markets. This strategy aims to boost India’s position as an automotive manufacturing hub. Additionally, the two companies work together to explore advancements in alternative powertrains, including hybrid and electric vehicles, in alignment with government initiatives promoting eco-friendly transportation.
