Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded domestic wholesales of 24,887 units in December 2024, registering a 16% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 21,372 units sold in December 2023. The Japanese carmaker continues to see strong demand for its popular SUV and MPV models - Fortuner, Innova Crysta, and Innova Hycross - while badge-engineered Suzuki products such as the Hyryder, Taisor, and Rumion also give a fillip to its sales in the Indian market.
TKM also recorded its best-ever calendar-year performance in CY24 by clocking cumulative domestic volumes of 300,159 units, a significant 36% YoY growth compared to 221,356 units sold in CY23. On the exports front, TKM shipped 26,232 units last year, compared to only 11,984 units in CY23, thus registering a growth of 119%.
According to Sabari Manohar, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, TKM, "We are immensely proud to close 2024 with a record-breaking performance. The SUV and MPV segments being key contributors grew at 20% over the same period last year. We are also observing a growing shift of consumer preferences towards vehicles offering sustainability, value proposition of dependability quotient, enhanced safety and better resale value which is boosting our sales. This milestone reflects the trust and faith of our customers towards brand Toyota, the unwavering commitment of our dealer partners, and the relentless efforts of our team members."
