Bharat NCAP has released the crash test results for the Tata Punch EV. The small electric SUV has been given a 5-star rating for both, adult and child occupant protection. The safety organisation had tested the model in April 2024, and the results are applicable for all variants of the Punch EV.

Considering the scores achieved by the small SUV, it is currently BNCAP’s highest rated car; the Nexon EV, Harrier and Safari are all 5-star rated, but their scores are a mite lower than the Punch EV’s.

The Tata Punch EV is currently offered with two battery options; a 25kWh battery with a 315km range (MIDC) and a 35kWh battery with 421km MIDC range. Charging options include a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger. Long Range variants get a 122hp and 190Nm motor, while the regular variants have an 82hp, 114Nm motor. Punch EV prices range between Rs 10.99 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh. Its closest rival is the Citroen eC3, which is priced from Rs 12.69 lakh, and was given a 0-star rating by Global NCAP.
