Tata Motors, India’s largest electric vehicle maker, will showcase over one and a half dozen zero-emission vehicles at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show, reinforcing its technology prowess across price points ranging from an electric hatchback to a large tractor-trailer.
Sources say that over half of its 15-20 showcases on the passenger vehicle front will be EVs, flex-fuel, and CNG. An all-new iteration of the Avinya concept will be featured. The portfolio will have a production-ready Sierra ICE and EV, Eturna or Harrier EV, a few future EV concepts, and limited-edition variants. There could be a flex-fuel version of Nexon or Punch and an all-new Tiago EV hatchback.
Similarly, in the commercial vehicle space, the company is likely to showcase its progress in EVs in the small commercial vehicle range.
The company may showcase the production version of its upcoming sub-one-tonne micro-EV truck called ‘Coral’, internally.
An EV version of a pickup truck may be available for show. Zero-emission alternatives for ILCV trucks, medium buses, and large high-dimensional cargo trucks will also be displayed at the show.
The sources added that the key CV highlights will likely be Coral EV and a series of LNG and hydrogen ICE alternatives for bigger trucks.
Tata Motors has the biggest hangar with the broadest mobility options for the evolving Indian market needs at motor shows.
Tata Motors is India’s largest automobile company by revenue and has consistently raised the bar on its sustainable vehicle portfolio. The company has committed over 2-3 billion US dollars to the EV business in the coming decade and currently leads the battery electric car market with a share of over 50%. Tata Group, as a respected conglomerate, has also committed over 40-50 billion dollars to the alternate energy space.
Tata Motors refused to comment on the queries on the showcases planned for the Bharat Mobility Show.
