Tata Motors Limited, a prominent player in India’s automotive industry, has teamed up with BVG Foundation, a nonprofit organisation, to launch the Good Samaritan Road Safety App. The initiative aims to improve road safety and streamline emergency responses in Maharashtra by leveraging technology and community participation.
The Good Samaritan Road Safety App is designed to integrate with existing ambulance dispatch systems, enabling faster response times and ensuring timely medical assistance for road accident victims. With an easy-to-use interface, the app empowers users to act as Good Samaritans, providing crucial support during emergencies.
Currently, the app is undergoing a pilot phase in Palghar District, Maharashtra. Depending on its performance, the program will be gradually extended to other parts of the state.
Speaking during National Road Safety Month, Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer, TMPV & TPEM at Tata Motors, stated, “The Good Samaritan Road Safety App is a step towards making roads safer by combining technology and community efforts to save lives.”
Hanmantrao Gaikwad, Director of BVG Foundation, highlighted the critical role of bystanders in emergency situations, explaining that the app and associated training initiatives aim to equip communities with the tools and knowledge needed for effective responses.
