Tata Elxsi Secures €50 Million Strategic Deal with Leading European Automotive OEM
As part of the agreement, Tata Elxsi will establish a dedicated Global Engineering Centre to support the OEM’s software platform roadmap and brand-aligned software engineering initiatives.
Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, has announced a major strategic multi-year deal worth €50 million with a prominent European-headquartered automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM). The partnership will see Tata Elxsi become a key engineering partner in the development of platform and application solutions across software-defined vehicle (SDV) platforms, electrification, body and chassis systems.
As part of the agreement, Tata Elxsi will establish a dedicated Global Engineering Centre to support the OEM’s software platform roadmap and brand-aligned software engineering initiatives. The centre will be instrumental in building a unified technology stack, including a proprietary operating system, electronic architecture, and automotive cloud infrastructure. These components aim to power next-generation in-vehicle capabilities, enable seamless connectivity, and facilitate software upgradability across vehicle brands and product lines.
Tata Elxsi was selected for its deep domain expertise in key automotive areas such as electrification, body & chassis, infotainment, and cybersecurity. The company’s robust track record in delivering automotive software solutions and operating global delivery hubs for top OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers was also a significant factor in the selection.
The announcement comes on the heels of Tata Elxsi’s recent launch of AVENIR, a cloud-agnostic SDV development and validation framework. AVENIR is designed to support modular software engineering, streamline platform integration, and enable both cloud-native and edge deployment. The framework complements the company’s growing portfolio of mobility solutions, including the AUTONOMAI ADAS suite, the TETHER connected vehicle platform, and the MOBIUS+ digital product passport.
Manoj Raghavan, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Elxsi, said, “We are delighted to partner with one of the world’s leading automotive and mobility providers, playing a key role in their journey towards scalable, software-led mobility. This engagement marks a significant step in our strategy to enable next-generation mobility through platform-centric, software-led engineering." He added that it reflects the trust placed in Tata Elxsi’s ability to deliver global programs with precision, scalability, and shared accountability.
This strategic engagement underscores Tata Elxsi’s broader ambition to lead in the convergence of design, digital, and engineering for the future of mobility. By collaborating with top-tier global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers, the company continues to advance solutions across connected platforms, autonomous technologies, electrified architectures, and sustainable mobility innovations.
