The Automation Expo 2024, held from August 21st to 24th at the Bombay Exhibition Center in Mumbai, featured a prominent Taiwan Excellence pavilion. The pavilion showcased advancements in factory automation from 17 Taiwanese brands, covering areas such as Machinery, Automation, Equipment & Components, Industrial PC, and IOT devices.
A product launch session called "Together for Automation Excellence" was part of the event. Companies including Advantech, HIWIN, Jumbo Laser, Mean Well, and Planet presented their latest solutions, which included the Modular TPC Series, eco-friendly options, robotic automation developments, and new power supplies. Representatives from these firms discussed how smart automation could potentially impact manufacturing processes and contribute to smart factory development.
Taiwan's approach to digital and sustainable manufacturing was a focus of the event. Homer Chang, Director General of the Taiwan Economic and Cultural Centre, discussed Taiwan's potential role in addressing India's automation needs. He suggested that Taiwanese solutions could offer a combination of digitisation, customisation, and affordability, and that Taiwan could potentially partner with India in industrial development.
The economic relationship between Taiwan and India was noted, with data showing growth in Taiwan's exports to India. From January to May 2024, Taiwan's exports to India increased by 28.1%, with chip exports growing by 49.4% and representing over 36% of Taiwan's total exports to India during this period.
The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion featured products from various Taiwanese brands, including AAEON, Advantech, APLEX, C&T, Hiwin, ICP DAS, KANFON, KSS, Main Drive, Mean Well, PLANET, Syntec (Leantec, Jumbo Laser), Techman Robot, Toyo Robot, Unitec, and Winmate. The event highlighted Taiwan's interest in innovation and collaboration with India's manufacturing sector, as India continues to develop its role in global manufacturing.
