Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), the Indian subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has launched the all-new Suzuki GSX-8R sportbike in India.
The motorcycle was first unveiled at EICMA 2023 and was subsequently showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Priced at Rs 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the GSX-8R is now available across Suzuki Bike Zones in India.
Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director of SMIPL, commented on the launch, stating that the GSX-8R is designed to offer riders of all ages a confident riding experience, whether for daily commuting or long-distance touring. The motorcycle comes equipped with the Suzuki Intelligent Control System (S.I.R.S.), which includes features such as the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS), aimed at enhancing the overall riding experience.
The GSX-8R is powered by Suzuki’s new-generation 776cc parallel-twin engine, offering a blend of smooth power delivery and high-revving performance. The bike’s 270-degree crankshaft provides power characteristics and sound akin to Suzuki's V-twin engines, while the Suzuki Cross Balancer system helps reduce vibrations for a smoother ride. The bike is also equipped with a bi-directional quick-shift system for seamless gear changes.
The motorcycle features a sharp, aerodynamic design, with wind tunnel-tested cowling and windscreen for improved high-speed stability. It comes with LED headlights and a custom 5-inch TFT LCD instrument panel for easy information display. The chassis has been designed for both comfort and stability, and the bike is equipped with Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres, inverted front forks, and a rear mono-shock suspension for enhanced agility and control.
The GSX-8R is available in three colour options: Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue, and Metallic Matte Black No. 2.
