TVS Motor Company has announced the 2025 season of the PETRONAS TVS India One Make Championship, with selection trials scheduled from May 9 to May 11, 2025. These trials will take place at the Madras International Circuit (MIC), covering multiple categories including the TVS Young Media Racer Program (YMRP), TVS Women’s One Make Championship (OMC), TVS Rookie OMC, and TVS RR310 OMC.

The PETRONAS TVS India One Make Championship has been part of India’s motorsports ecosystem for years, serving as a training ground for riders across skill levels. It offers structured mentorship and a competitive platform for participants to improve their racing skills.

For the 2025 season, each category has specific eligibility requirements. The TVS YMRP is open to riders under 30 years of age and is by invitation only, with trials set for May 9. The TVS Women’s OMC is open to riders under 40 years of age, born between January 1, 1986, and January 1, 2010. These participants must have Level 1 certification from an FMSCI Training School. Trials for this category are scheduled for May 10.

The TVS Rookie OMC targets younger riders aged between 15 and 21 years, born between January 1, 2006, and January 1, 2010. Participants must also have a Level 1 FMSCI certification and be accompanied by a guardian at the venue. The selection trials will take place on May 11. For the TVS RR310 OMC, riders must be under 30 years of age, born after January 1, 1996, and should have achieved at least one podium finish in either a National Championship or One Make Championship. This category will also hold its trials on May 11.

Commenting on the championship, Vimal Sumbly, Head Business – Premium, TVS Motor Company, said the One Make Championship has continued to create racing opportunities for a wide range of participants. He also noted that the event incorporates safety measures such as Alpinestar airbag jackets, FIM-certified helmets, and racing suits that meet FIM specifications. The motorcycles used are tuned specifically for racing.

The TVS One Make Championship has seen participation from over 3,000 riders since it began in 1994. It includes multiple formats aimed at different rider profiles. The TVS Rookie OMC, launched in 2022, is designed for new entrants to racing and uses TVS Apache RTR 200 motorcycles. Over 100 riders have participated in this program.

The TVS RR310 OMC, introduced in 2018, caters to more experienced racers and features the race-ready TVS Apache RR 310 motorcycle. More than 300 riders have taken part in this category, with several moving on to other competitive racing platforms.

The TVS Young Media Racer Program (YMRP), which began in 2017, gives motorsports journalists and content creators an opportunity to experience track racing. Participants receive comprehensive training before competing on race-spec TVS Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycles.

The TVS Women’s OMC was launched in 2016, making TVS Racing one of the first Indian manufacturers to establish a dedicated racing platform for women. The program provides professional coaching and access to race-prepped motorcycles, and more than 500 women have participated in it.

TVS Racing has played a role in the development of the TVS Apache series by applying lessons from the racetrack to its production motorcycles under its “Track to Road” approach. The Apache series, which completes 20 years in 2025, includes motorcycles across the 160cc to 310cc range. These models feature several performance-oriented technologies, including ride-by-wire and race-tuned fuel injection.

With over 400,000 members in the Apache Owners Group (AOG), the brand has built a global community of riders who share a passion for performance motorcycles.

TVS Racing has been active in motorsports since 1982. It introduced India’s first manufacturer-backed One Make Championship in 1994 and has continued to engage with racing talent through various initiatives over the past four decades.
