Royal Enfield has sustained its strong growth momentum, posting total sales of 90,670 motorcycles in February 2025, marking a 19% increase compared to the same month last year. According to the company's latest sales report, domestic sales reached 80,799 units, up 19% from 67,922 units in February 2024.
The iconic motorcycle manufacturer also reported a 23% growth in exports, shipping 9,871 motorcycles overseas compared to 8,013 units during the same period last year. This export performance continues to strengthen Royal Enfield's global presence, following January's impressive 79% year-over-year export growth.
B Govindarajan, Managing Director of Eicher Motors and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield, attributed this sustained performance to the company's robust product portfolio. "We've continued our growth momentum in the month of February. This growth was aided by our strong product portfolio, which has been instrumental in helping us deliver pure motorcycling experiences to riding enthusiasts across the globe," he said.
For the year-to-date period of 2024-25, Royal Enfield has sold a total of 908,879 motorcycles, representing a 9% increase over the 837,181 units sold during the same period last year. The company appears well on track to achieve its anticipated milestone of 1 million annual sales in 2025, building on its record of 944,000 units sold in 2024.
February also marked several significant product developments for the brand. Royal Enfield unveiled Flying Flea, its new lifestyle brand targeting the urban mobility segment with the introduction of the FF.C6, a retro-futuristic electric motorcycle.
Additionally, the company enhanced its Guerrilla 450 lineup with two new colorways, including a 'Peix Bronze' variant for the Dash model, and launched the Limited Edition Shotgun 650 in collaboration with ICON Motosports.
As one of the oldest motorcycle brands in continuous production since 1901, Royal Enfield continues to expand its footprint with more than 2,000 stores across India and nearly 850 stores in over 60 countries worldwide. The company operates two production facilities near Chennai and six modern CKD assembly facilities across Bangladesh, Nepal, Brazil, Thailand, Argentina, and Colombia.
Royal Enfield dominates India’s retro and premium motorcycle market, holding over 80% share in the 250cc+ segment. Its iconic retro styling, combined with modern engineering, has solidified its leadership in the mid-size (250-750cc) category, particularly with models like the Classic 350 and Hunter 350.
Over the last five years, this success has attracted competitors like Honda (H’ness CB350), Jawa, Yezdi, and Bajaj-Triumph, who have launched retro-styled motorcycles to challenge Royal Enfield’s dominance. These brands target similar audiences with competitive pricing and modern features, intensifying market rivalry.
Currently, the premium segment (12-15% of total motorcycle sales) is growing, driven by rising urbanization and youth demand. Despite increased competition and pricing pressures, Royal Enfield maintains its edge through brand loyalty, continuous innovation, and a robust 350cc portfolio, though rivals are steadily gaining traction.
