Revolt Motors has announced the launch of its new electric motorcycle, the Revolt RV1, aimed at the commuter segment. With motorcycles making up 70% of all two-wheelers sold in India, and the commuter segment accounting for over 80 lakh units annually, the RV1 enters a significant market.

The RV1, along with its premium variant, the RV1+, is available in four colors, with introductory prices set at ₹84,990 for the RV1 and ₹99,990 for the RV1+. These models aim to make electric motorcycling more accessible by offering lower ownership costs compared to petrol motorcycles in the same category. The RV1 complements Revolt Motors' existing lineup, including the RV400 and RV400 BRZ.

The RV1 features a payload capacity of 250 kg, which is higher than the typical 150 kg capacity of other commuter motorcycles. It includes wider tyres for better stability, a mid-motor and chain drive system for smooth acceleration, and dual disc brakes for enhanced safety. The motorcycle also offers multiple speed modes and a reverse mode, which is a first in its category.

A 6-inch digital LCD display provides ride data and error codes. The RV1 includes stylish LED headlights and taillights, and built-in storage for the charger. The RV1+ can be fully charged in 1.5 hours using fast-charging technology. The RV1 comes with two battery options: a 2.2 kWh battery offering up to 100 km range and a 3.24 kWh battery extending the range to 160 km. Both batteries are IP67-rated for water resistance.

Comfort features include a long seat and a frame designed for multiple passengers, with an advanced suspension system for a smoother ride. Additionally, Revolt Motors has upgraded its RV400 model, which now features a faster charger, a new reverse mode, an enhanced digital display, improved seat comfort, and Bluetooth connectivity. The RV400's range has been extended to 160 km, and it now comes in a new Lunar Green color.
