Range Rover has announced its official partnership with The Championships, Wimbledon. The Grand Slam tournament will be supported for the first time with Range Rover as the Official Vehicle Partner for 2024. The transition from Jaguar to Range Rover will see JLR’s support of The Championships extend to more than a decade.
The Championships is set to take place from 1-14 July 2024, at the The All England Lawn Tennis Club.
The fleet, including the latest Range Rover and Range Rover Sport plug-in electric hybrid models, will be used to transport players, their teams and officials to and from official venues throughout The Championships, using the on-site charging facilities to maximise the use of Range Rover’s pure electric driving range of up to 120 kms.
Geraldine Ingham, Range Rover Managing Director, said: “As an iconic British cultural event watched by millions across the world, The Championships provides the ideal opportunity for Range Rover to engage with our global clients with creative storytelling, that perfectly captures the elegance and refinement of our vehicles and the synergies between our two modern luxury brands.”
Deborah Jevans CBE, Chair of the All England Club, which stages The Championships, said: “We are delighted to be continuing our long-standing partnership with JLR with the announcement of Range Rover as Official Vehicle Partner. I am particularly pleased with the inclusion of a significant number of lower emission plug-in hybrid vehicles in the fleet, with a focus on as many journeys as possible being delivered in EV mode. This is another step towards our goal of achieving net zero operational emissions by 2030."
