Ola Electric has retained the top spot in electric two-wheeler sales, four times in a row as its sales climbed by 25 percent to 25,000 units in December 2022, as against 20,000 units in November 2022.
From a distinct sixth position in August 2022 when its sales were pegged at around 3,440 units, Ola has been on an upward trajectory to occupy the pole position since it clocked 9,634 units in September 2022. Its market share which stood at 18.63 percent in September too has shot up to 30 percent in December. 2022.
The turnaround in performance can be attributed to its 3x growth in service expansion from 20 centers in August to 100 centers at present which will be scaled up to 300 experience zones by March 2023
Sharing his views on the record growth Ola Electric Founder Bhavish Aggarwal said that the company is on an expansion spree to "building a robust roadmap of electric vehicles to accelerate the world’s transition to electric mobility"
For 2023 Ola has multiple launch plans with a mass-market scooter in the last quarter of FY 23, followed by premium and mass-market motorcycles towards the end of 2023 followed by an electric car in 2024.
Ola which has sold more than 1,50,000 EVs this year is working towards "Converting all two-wheelers sold in India by the end of 2025 to be electric, and all cars sold in India by 2030 to be electric," Aggarwal had earlier said.
Ola's latest over-the-air (OTA) software update has offered the compatibility of Ola scooters with the company’s rapidly expanding Hypercharger network, currently spread across 27 Indian States.
