Ola Electric sold over 25,000 electric two-wheelers in February 2025, securing a 28% market share and maintaining its position as the leading player in India's electric two-wheeler segment. The company attributes its performance to its comprehensive S1 portfolio and extensive sales-and-service network spanning 4,000 stores across India.
A company spokesperson noted increased demand from smaller cities, stating: "We are now witnessing a strong uptick in demand beyond urban cities from Tier 3 & 4 towns." The company expects further growth with the upcoming delivery of its Roadster X motorcycle series next month.
During February, Ola Electric renegotiated contracts with vehicle registration agencies, which temporarily affected registration numbers on the VAHAN portal. The company explained this was part of efforts to reduce costs and improve registration processes.
Ola Electric recently launched its Gen-3 portfolio with prices ranging from ₹79,999 for the S1 X (2kWh) to ₹1,69,999 for the S1 Pro+ 5.3kWh at introductory rates. The company also released its MoveOS 5 beta software update with new features including Brake by Wire, Smart Park, and DIY ride modes.
The company has expanded into the electric motorcycle market with its Roadster X series. Prices start at ₹74,999 for the base Roadster X model and reach ₹1,54,999 for the premium Roadster X+ 9.1kWh version, which features the company's 4680 Bharat Cell technology offering a range of 501 km per charge.
India's electric two-wheeler market has seen significant growth in recent years as government incentives and increasing environmental awareness drive adoption. Ola Electric, founded in 2017 as a subsidiary of ride-hailing company Ola, has rapidly established itself as a major player in India's electric mobility sector, competing with established automotive manufacturers and other EV startups in the world's largest two-wheeler market.
