Samvardhana Motherson International Limited (SMIL) has announced that its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Samvardhana Motherson Automotive Systems Group B.V. (SMRP B.V.), will invest between USD 5 to 7 million in REE Automotive Ltd.
According to the company's regulatory filing, the investment is intended to maintain SMRP B.V.'s current ownership percentage in REE Automotive. The filing states that REE Automotive is raising additional capital to support the commercialization of its order book.
SMRP B.V. currently holds 18.6% of REE Automotive's ordinary share capital (11% on a fully diluted basis) following a transaction completed in September 2024.
