Montra Electric Partners with Steam-A to Expand EV Charging Network
Collaboration aims to improve charging infrastructure reliability across India by implementing advanced AI-driven management systems to support growing electric vehicle adoption in the commercial logistics sector.
Montra Electric announced a partnership with Steam-A on Friday to integrate the Iris EV Charging Management Suite into its Powerdock charging network. The collaboration focuses on strengthening charging infrastructure to support Montra's expanding electric small commercial vehicle (SCV) operations.
The integration will implement Steam-A's AI-driven predictive maintenance system and real-time operational monitoring across Montra's charging stations. This technology is designed to reduce downtime, lower operational costs, and provide analytics for continuous service improvement.
"We are strengthening our commitment to innovation and customer-first solutions," said Saju Nair, Chief Executive Officer of TIVOLT Electric Vehicles, the SCV division of Montra Electric. "This collaboration will drive greater EV adoption while delivering a seamless experience for our customers."
The partnership comes as Montra Electric expands its presence in the e-SCV market following the launch of its EVIATOR vehicle. The company has been developing the Powerdock network to support its growing customer base in commercial logistics.
Vishwanath Surendiran, Co-founder of Steam-A, stated that the company would "deliver industry-leading standards of reliability and customer experience" through the partnership.
India's EV charging infrastructure has been developing rapidly to match growing electric vehicle adoption. Industry analysts note that reliable charging networks are essential for commercial fleet operators considering the transition to electric vehicles, as downtime directly impacts business operations.
Montra Electric operates as part of the Murugappa Group, a 124-year-old conglomerate with diverse business interests across agriculture, engineering, and financial services. The group maintains a workforce of over 83,500 employees and reported revenues of INR 77,881 crore.
Steam-A specializes in digital solutions for EV charging management, focusing on data-driven optimization to improve reliability and efficiency for charging station operators and fleet managers.
