November 21, 2024: The Madras Sappers (Madras Engineer Group), a distinguished Indian Army regiment, concluded its electric bike rally today in Bengaluru. The event, which began on November 16, 2024, from four locations—Kanyakumari, Belgavi, Hyderabad, and Trivandrum—ended at the Madras Engineering Group Centre (MEG Centre) in Bengaluru. The rally marked the 244th Raising Day of the Madras Engineer Group and also commemorated the 25th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil War.
The rally featured Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 electric motorcycles, highlighting a focus on sustainable mobility. Over five days, the participants covered 2,000 kilometers across 20 cities in five southern states of India. The 20 F77 Mach 2 motorcycles, ridden by officers and soldiers of the Madras Sappers, collectively traveled over 40,000 kilometers, combining military tradition with electric vehicle technology.
The event concluded with a ride-along in Bengaluru, where local communities, F77 owners, and EV enthusiasts joined the riders in celebrating the achievement. The participants were welcomed at the MEG Centre, where their efforts were recognized.
The rally also included a veterans’ outreach program, providing updates and assistance to retired personnel and their families. The event demonstrated the Army's commitment to sustainability and innovation by embracing electric motorcycles for long-distance travel.
