Made-in-India Maruti Fronx gathers 700 plus orders in Japan
Pre-bookings for the Fronx commenced in Japan earlier this month.
The Maruti Fronx has garnered more than 700 orders in Japan. The Fronx will go on sale in the Japanese market on October 16, 2024, Autocar Professional can confirm.
The Fronx is the only made in India Suzuki product that is sold in Japan currently, which is built at the Suzuki Gujarat plant. These cars that are made for export, come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with mild hybrid tech instead of the 1.2-litre petrol that comes in the India-spec models. It is already being exported to many international markets in left and right hand drive layouts. Maruti Suzuki is the top exporter of made-in-India passenger vehicles and has exported over 2.8 lakh units in FY 2023-24. The brand exported a record 70,560 units in Q1 FY 2024-25, the highest ever in any Q1 of the company.
