Kia Reports 4.5% Year-on-Year Growth in February 2025 Global Sales

Kia recorded global sales of 253,850 units in February 2025, reflecting a 4.5% increase from the previous year. SUV models, including the Sportage and Sorento, contributed significantly to overall sales performance in domestic and international markets.

Kia Reports 4.5% Year-on-Year Growth in February 2025 Global Sales

Kia Corporation has reported global sales of 253,850 units in February 2025, marking a 4.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The growth was supported by steady demand across international markets and key model performances, including the introduction of new models such as the K4 sedan and Syros SUV.  

SUVs continued to drive Kia’s overall sales, with the Sportage emerging as the top-selling model, recording 46,287 units globally. The Sorento followed with 24,173 units, while the Seltos accounted for 24,040 units.  

Sales outside Korea totaled 207,462 units, reflecting a 4.4 percent year-on-year increase, excluding special purpose vehicles. The Sportage led overseas sales with 39,719 units, followed by the Seltos at 19,276 units. The K3 and K4 models together recorded 16,549 units.  

In the domestic market, Kia registered sales of 46,003 units in February, a 4.5 percent rise compared to the same period in 2024. The Sorento SUV was the company’s best-selling passenger vehicle in Korea with 9,067 units sold, followed by the Carnival MPV at 7,734 units and the Sportage SUV at 6,568 units.  

Special purpose vehicle sales saw a notable rise, with 385 units sold, representing a 41 percent year-on-year growth. On a month-over-month basis, global sales increased by 5.8 percent from January 2025, when the company recorded 239,878 units. In Korea, month-over-month sales rose by 19.8 percent, while international sales grew by 3.1 percent.  

For the year-to-date (YTD) performance, Kia recorded total sales of 493,728 units by the end of February 2025, a 1.1 percent increase from the 488,503 units sold in the same period in 2024. While overseas markets grew by 2.3 percent YTD, domestic sales in Korea declined by 4.8 percent compared to the previous year. Special purpose vehicle sales increased by 22.5 percent on a YTD basis.
