Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt. Ltd, the specialised wheelset manufacturing arm of Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL), has secured a significant contract valued at ₹255 crore from Braithwaite & Co. The order encompasses the supply of 9,140 wheelsets of 840 mm diameter designed for 25-ton axle load applications.

This latest contract bolsters Jupiter's standing as a key domestic manufacturer of railway wheelsets and contributes to India's growing railway infrastructure needs. With this acquisition, the company's total order book has reached ₹560 crore, reflecting its expanding footprint in the railway sector.

Jupiter has set a revenue target of ₹600 crore from its wheel business for the fiscal year 2026. To achieve this growth trajectory, the company is developing a state-of-the-art production facility in Odisha. This expansion will dramatically increase its manufacturing capacity from the current 20,000 forged wheels and axles to 100,000 forged wheelsets annually, supported by a substantial investment of ₹2,500 crore.

The project is progressing on schedule, with axle production expected to commence by December 2026, while the complete wheel and axle production unit is slated for completion by December 2027.

In a parallel development, Jupiter Electric Mobility Pvt. Ltd (JEM), the commercial EV division of JWL, is preparing to launch its new product, JEM TEZ, on March 3, 2025, in Indore, marking the company's strategic diversification into sustainable mobility solutions..
