Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the EV arm of Jupiter Group, launched its new electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV), the JEM TEZ. The company also inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Pithampur, Indore. The move is part of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in the commercial EV segment and support domestic manufacturing.
The new vehicle offers a certified range of over 190 kilometers, an 80kW peak motor power, and a 1.05-ton payload capacity. It features a fast-charging system that allows it to gain more than 100 kilometers of range in an hour using a CCS2 charger. The e-LCV is designed for last-mile logistics and urban freight transport and is priced at ₹10.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
To support the production and expansion of its EV offerings, Jupiter Electric Mobility has inaugurated a 2.5-acre manufacturing plant in Pithampur. The facility includes in-house skateboard platform capabilities and a vehicle assembly unit. It has an initial production capacity of 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs annually, with plans for gradual expansion. The plant is expected to contribute to domestic EV manufacturing and reduce dependence on imports.
As part of its national expansion, Jupiter Electric Mobility plans to roll out the JEM TEZ in key cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, where EV adoption is increasing.
The company has partnered with firms such as Porter, Pulse Energy, Battwheel, and Tapfin to establish an integrated EV ecosystem that includes charging infrastructure, financing options, and after-sales support.
