JSW MG Motor India announced the delivery of 101 units of the MG Windsor, described as India's first intelligent crossover utility vehicle (CUV), in Chennai. The vehicles were delivered through MG FPL Chennai.
The MG Windsor achieved notable sales in October 2024, with 3,116 units sold, accounting for approximately 30% of total passenger electric car sales during the month. It also set a record by receiving 15,176 bookings within 24 hours of the booking announcement, a first for passenger EVs in India.
The MG Windsor is designed to combine the comfort of a sedan with the practicality of an SUV. It features a streamlined aerodynamic design, spacious interiors, advanced safety measures, smart connectivity features, and driving comfort. Built on a dedicated EV platform, it has a certified range of 332 km on a single charge. The MG Windsor is priced at Rs 13,49,800 (ex-showroom), and under the Battery as a Service (BaaS) program, it is offered at Rs 9.99 lakhs with a battery rental cost of Rs 3.5 per km.
The vehicle includes several first-in-segment features. It comes equipped with Aero Lounge seats that recline up to 135°, providing enhanced comfort, and offers a 604-litre boot space for luggage. The Windsor uses an IP67-certified 38 kWh battery, ensuring durability and safety, and supports four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport. Additional features include an Infinity View Glass Roof and a 2700 mm wheelbase for added comfort and openness.
The MG Windsor incorporates smart connectivity through the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (ICP), which offers over 100 AI-enabled voice commands and supports multiple Indian languages. Key functions and infotainment can be controlled via voice commands. The 15.6-inch Grandview Touch Display provides navigation and entertainment options while integrating with the vehicle's systems. With over 80 connected features, including real-time navigation, remote control of vehicle functions, and safety alerts, the MG Windsor delivers a comprehensive and intelligent driving experience.
The MG Windsor is available in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, and comes in four colour options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.
