Joy e-bike inaugurates new assembly line in Deoghar, Jharkhand
With the establishment of the new facility, the company aims to generate employment and provide specialised training.
Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility Limited (WIML), known for its electric two-wheeler brand ‘Joy e-bike’, recently inaugurated a new assembly line facility in Deoghar, Jharkhand. This move is aimed at boosting the company’s production capabilities to meet the rising demand for electric two-wheelers across India, particularly in the eastern and northern regions.
The new facility, covering 15,000 sq. ft., boasts an initial annual production capacity of 20,000 units, positioning it to serve the burgeoning market demand in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, and the North East region, as well as extending its reach to the export market in Nepal.
The establishment of the new facility is not just a step towards increasing production but also a means to generate employment and provide specialised training. The company aims to create job opportunities and offer industry-specific training to workers, thereby enhancing their skills in EV manufacturing and operations. The strategic location of Deoghar, due to its proximity to several key states, was chosen to better serve the northern and eastern markets of India, which have demonstrated a substantial demand for electric two-wheelers, the company shared in a statement.
The initiative has received support from various departments of the Jharkhand Government, indicating a collaborative effort towards promoting sustainable mobility solutions in the country.
