JK Tyre Launches Motorsport Festival Across North-Eastern States

JK Tyre & Industries has announced a regional motorsport tour across five North-Eastern states from April 12-22, 2025. The "JK Tyre powered Indian Racing Festival" will visit Kohima, Aizawl, Shillong, Guwahati, and Gangtok, bringing professional racing demonstrations to areas where the company maintains a strong market position.

The festival will showcase Formula 4 and Wolf cars from the Indian Racing Festival, along with drifting demonstrations in Lexus and BMW vehicles and motorcycle stunts. Young karting competitors will also participate, highlighting the company's development programs for racing talent.

"The North-East is not just a stronghold for our brand, but a region where our passion for adventure and performance resonates with the people," said Srinivasu Allaphan, Director of Sales & Marketing at JK Tyre & Industries. The company cited government support from North-Eastern states as crucial for developing motorsport in the region.

JK Tyre has previously collaborated with regional events including the Hornbill Festival in Nagaland and the Orange Festival in Arunachal Pradesh. The company holds a dominant position in the SUV tyre segment in the North-East, where such vehicles are common due to the mountainous terrain.

The tour will utilize the company's Levitas Ultra high-performance tyres for all demonstrations. Participants will range from 9-year-old karting competitors to established racing champions and rally drivers.

Founded over four decades ago, JK Tyre operates 11 manufacturing facilities globally, including nine in India and two in Mexico, with combined production of approximately 35 million tyres annually. The company pioneered radial tyre technology in India in 1977 and maintains a research facility in Mysore.

JK Tyre has received recognition for environmental and safety practices, including the British Safety Council's "Sword of Honour" award. The company is among the top 20 tyre manufacturers worldwide and was the first Indian tyre company to join the RE100 renewable energy initiative.
