Jeep India introduces Meridian X, special edition of popular SUV

Jeep India has launched the Meridian X Special Edition, a new variant of their popular SUV designed to cater to customers seeking a balance between off-road capability and urban sophistication. The special edition model comes with a range of styling enhancements and feature upgrades aimed at elevating the overall driving experience.

It was in 2022 that Jeep introduced the Meridian, a three-row SUV designed specifically for the Indian market. The Meridian is built on the same platform as the Compass but offers more space, comfort, and versatility to cater to larger families and those requiring additional seating capacity.

The exterior of the Meridian X boasts unique design elements such as body-colored lowers, a grey roof, and alloy wheels with grey pockets. These aesthetic changes are intended to give the SUV a more premium and distinctive appearance.

Inside, the Meridian X offers a host of modifications to enhance comfort and convenience. These include side molding, puddle lamps, programmable ambient lighting, sunshades, an air purifier, a dash cam, premium carpet mats, and an optional rear seat entertainment package.

Under the hood, the Jeep Meridian retains its powertrain, which the company claims offers the fastest acceleration and highest power-to-weight ratio in its segment. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 198 km/h.

The launch of the Meridian X Special Edition is part of Jeep India's strategy to cater to a diverse customer base with varying preferences and needs. The company aims to attract buyers who value both off-road performance and urban refinement.

The brand offers a diverse range of SUVs catering to various customer preferences and needs. The lineup includes the iconic Wrangler, known for its unparalleled off-road capabilities, removable doors and roof, and classic design. The Grand Cherokee, a premium mid-size SUV, offers a blend of luxury, comfort, and off-road prowess, making it suitable for both family adventures and urban commutes.

The compact Jeep Compass is a popular choice for those seeking a smaller, more affordable SUV that still offers the brand's signature styling and off-road capabilities. The Gladiator, Jeep's pickup truck, combines the Wrangler's off-road performance with the utility of a cargo bed, appealing to customers who require both adventure and practicality.

The newly launched Jeep Meridian X Special Edition enhances the standard Meridian with unique styling elements and feature upgrades. It sits at the upper end of the Meridian range, appealing to customers who desire a more premium and distinctive appearance without compromising on the SUV's core strengths of off-road capability and spacious interiors.

By offering the Meridian X Special Edition, Jeep aims to attract buyers who value exclusivity and personalization while still enjoying the benefits of a practical and capable family SUV. The special edition model competes with other premium three-row SUVs in the Indian market, such as the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and MG Gloster, by offering a unique combination of Jeep's brand heritage, off-road expertise, and upscale features.

Bookings for the Jeep Meridian X are now open at Jeep dealerships across India and through the company's official website. The Jeep Meridian range starts at INR 29.49 lakhs, and the vehicles are available for immediate delivery.

Jeep, a brand with over 80 years of heritage, is part of the portfolio offered by global automaker Stellantis.
