JBM Electric Vehicles and LeafyBus partner to deploy 200 electric luxury buses

This collaboration aims to support public transportation by combining luxury, safety, and eco-friendliness. The initiative is expected to save 4 lac tons of CO2 emissions, marking a major step in green mobility, as claimed by the company.

JBM Luxury Bus

The agreement stipulates that JBM Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd will provide 200 electric intercity buses featuring advanced technology designed to offer a comfortable, safe, and eco-friendly travel experience. These buses will operate on various routes, improving connectivity between cities while reducing the carbon footprint of intercity travel.

The project scope includes the delivery of 200 electric buses, comprising 150 high-end electric luxury intercity coaches and 50 e-buses for staff and tourist applications. These zero-emission electric buses are designed to provide passengers with high standards of luxury, safety, and comfort, featuring plush interiors and premium amenities.

The agreement aligns with JBM's mission towards decarbonisation, aiming to reduce carbon footprint and promote sustainable mobility solutions. It is estimated that these buses will save approximately 4 lac tons of CO2 emissions and 140 million liters of diesel over their lifetime, as reported by the company. 

The buses will incorporate the latest battery technology for extended range, fast-charging capabilities, and intelligent fleet management systems to optimize routes and energy consumption. Deliveries are scheduled to be completed within the next 24 months.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group, stated that the association demonstrates JBM's commitment to sustainable development and zero-emission technologies. He noted that their electric buses offer superior performance, safety, and reliability while providing a cleaner alternative for intercity travel. Arya also mentioned that JBM has conducted rigorous trials of their buses across various geographies, demonstrating their adaptability to different road conditions, climates, and operational patterns.

Rohan, Founder of LeafyBus, expressed that the collaboration with JBM represents a significant step in transforming India's transportation landscape. He stated that with the addition of 200 new electric buses to their fleet, LeafyBus aims to lead in providing a sustainable and luxurious travel experience for eco-conscious travelers.

JBM electric buses, introduced in 2018, have been operating in the green public transportation sector worldwide. Under the company's 1 billion e-kms promise, JBM electric buses have reportedly traveled 150 million e-kms and served 1 billion bus commuters globally.
