Japan’s Musashi Seimitsu announces strategic partnership with Log9 Materials for battery solutions

Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd., the Japanese parent company of Musashi India and a leading manufacturer of two- and four-wheeler transmission components, has entered into a strategic partnership with Log9 Materials, an advanced battery technology company. This collaboration aims to develop an integrated powertrain solution for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers by combining Musashi’s high-performance e-Axle system with Log9’s battery technology.

The partnership seeks to address key challenges in electric vehicle (EV) energy management, including scalability and service reliability, while improving overall performance and durability. By integrating battery packs with e-Axle systems, the joint effort aims to reduce energy losses, extend vehicle range, and optimise performance, particularly in urban environments. The collaboration is expected to benefit Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) by offering an efficient, innovative solution for EVs.

Musashi’s President and Group CEO, Hiroshi Otsuka, stated: "This partnership marks a significant milestone in our vision to reshape the electric mobility landscape. By joining forces with Log9, we aim to deliver a comprehensive, high-performance solution tailored for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers."

Pankaj Sharma, Co-Founder of Log9 Materials, highlighted the shared goal of the two companies in advancing sustainable technologies: "By combining Musashi’s expertise in energy-efficient motion conversion with Log9’s battery technology, we are committed to bringing efficient powertrain solutions to market."

A notable feature of the partnership is the implementation of a centralised service model for the integrated battery and e-Axle systems, which is expected to reduce repair times and improve customer satisfaction. Both companies plan to target India and global markets, including Southeast Asia and Africa, supported by an after-sales service network across key Indian cities.

This collaboration aligns with Musashi’s broader strategic goals of innovation and contributing to global carbon emission reduction efforts. The joint venture is expected to play a significant role in accelerating EV adoption and providing sustainable transportation solutions for a wider range of consumers.
