iGowise Mobility, a Bangalore-based deep-tech mobility startup, has announced strategic collaborations with EVMI Solutions in the UK, Swiss electric tuk-tuk company Subeez, and Colombian logistics firm Yaanco SAS. These partnerships are aimed at co-developing next-generation electric trikes tailored to regional requirements, reinforcing the company's vision of "Made in India, Made for the World."
Under this initiative, iGowise plans to introduce fully assembled electric trikes before 2026 and set up local micro-assembly facilities within 24 to 30 months. The company anticipates a rise in export volumes, with a potential USD 50 million agreement with a Middle Eastern fleet operator currently under discussion. Founder Sravan Kumar Appana emphasized that this strategy marks a shift from India’s traditional dependence on domestic consumption and imported technologies, positioning the country as an exporter of advanced electric vehicle solutions.
Each partnership is designed to meet the specific demands of its target market. In South America, iGowise is developing weather-resistant designs to handle frequent rains and steep terrain. The Northern European market will focus on enhancing battery efficiency in colder climates, while Middle Eastern markets require light electric vehicles capable of operating in extreme heat and at higher speeds. The company follows an iterative testing approach, incorporating real-world customer feedback to refine its technology across diverse environmental conditions.
iGowise’s expansion also seeks to address existing challenges with imported trikes from Japan and China, such as high import costs, insurance, and licensing requirements. The company’s narrow-track twin-wheel design aims to reduce costs and simplify licensing, making electric trikes a more viable option in global markets. Dr. Ankur Seth, founder of Yaanco, highlighted the growing demand for light electric vehicles in South America, particularly in logistics and personal transportation, and expressed confidence in iGowise’s technology to meet these needs.
Beyond international markets, iGowise is also strengthening its presence in India. The company has partnered with domestic fleet aggregator Hala Mobility to deploy 2,000 high-speed electric trikes, supporting its broader objective of making globally competitive electric vehicles accessible to Indian consumers. Additionally, the company and its partners plan to establish a micromobility lab dedicated to developing AI-powered micro-EVs, further positioning India as a hub for electric vehicle innovation.
