Hyundai CRETA recorded the highest sales in the Indian automobile market in March 2025, with 18,059 units sold, maintaining its leadership in the SUV segment. The model also led Q4 FY 2024-25 sales (Jan–Mar) with 52,898 units, reinforcing its position as India’s best-selling SUV. Hyundai CRETA finished FY 2024-25 as the third highest-selling passenger vehicle in the country, achieving 1,94,871 unit sales, marking a 20% year-on-year growth.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) attributes the strong performance to CRETA’s sustained market demand. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., stated, “The Hyundai CRETA continues to set new benchmarks in India’s automotive landscape. Its consistent brand leadership in the SUV segment and now as the highest-selling model in March 2025 is a symbol of the strong emotional bond it shares with Indian customers.”
The SUV’s popularity contributed to the increased share of SUVs in HMIL’s total sales, rising from 63.2% in FY 2023-24 to 68.5% in FY 2024-25. Hyundai CRETA’s electric variant has further expanded the model’s reach, reflecting the company’s focus on sustainable mobility solutions.
Hyundai CRETA has been in production since 2015, selling over 1.2 million units in India, contributing to Hyundai’s SUV market presence.The model has evolved across multiple generations, integrating new technology and powertrain options, including an electric variant.
