HPCL and Tata Motors Launch Diesel Exhaust Fluid
The product will be available through HPCL’s network of 23,000 fuel stations nationwide.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) and Tata Motors have introduced a co-branded Genuine Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) aimed at improving the efficiency of commercial vehicles, Tata Motors said in a press release. The product will be available through HPCL’s network of 23,000 fuel stations nationwide.
DEF is a key component for BS6-compliant diesel vehicles, helping reduce emissions by converting nitrogen oxides into nitrogen and water. This initiative aims to support environmental compliance while maintaining vehicle performance.
HPCL Director of Marketing Amit Garg stated that the partnership aligns with HPCL’s commitment to sustainability and cleaner transportation. He emphasized the role of HPCL’s distribution network in ensuring easy access to high-quality DEF for customers.
Tata Motors Executive Director Girish Wagh highlighted that the collaboration would provide Tata Motors customers with better access to DEF, helping them maintain vehicle efficiency and comply with emission standards.
With this, HPCL continues its focus on cleaner fuels and digital advancements in fuel retailing. Its infrastructure includes refineries and terminals supporting efficient distribution across markets. Tata Motors complements this initiative through its Sampoorna Seva 2.0 program, which offers vehicle lifecycle management services, and its Fleet Edge platform for optimized fleet management.
Tata Motors, part of the Tata Group, is a global automobile manufacturer producing cars, utility vehicles, trucks, and buses. It focuses on engineering solutions and sustainable mobility, with operations in multiple countries, including India, the UK, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. The company is actively involved in India's transition to electric vehicles and works with the government on policy development.
HPCL is a public sector enterprise engaged in refining crude oil and marketing petroleum products, including fuels, lubricants, and LPG. It operates in India and select international markets.
