Gulf Oil and Piaggio India renew partnership for lubricant solutions
Gulf Oil and Piaggio India extend their collaboration until 2030, focusing on co-branded lubricants tailored for commercial vehicles, including electric and BS VI models.
Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited (Gulf Oil), a prominent player in the lubricants industry, and Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd (Piaggio India), a subsidiary of the Italian Piaggio Group and a key manufacturer of small commercial vehicles in India, have renewed their exclusive strategic partnership. This collaboration, extended until 2030, focuses on delivering genuine and co-branded lubricants for Piaggio’s commercial vehicle segment in India and select export markets.
The agreement was signed by Diego Graffi, Chairman and Managing Director of Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd, and Ravi Chawla, Managing Director and CEO of Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited. Since the partnership began in 2020, Gulf and Piaggio India have worked together to develop lubricants tailored to meet the requirements of Piaggio’s vehicle range, including BS VI and electric vehicles. These products are designed to enhance vehicle performance and longevity, offering optimised solutions for Piaggio’s commercial vehicles.
Ravi Chawla commented on the renewal, highlighting its alignment with Gulf Oil’s aim to provide specialised lubricants for diverse vehicle categories. He noted that the collaboration leverages the growth potential of India’s commercial vehicle market, driven by infrastructure development, to expand Gulf Oil’s reach in both conventional and electric vehicle segments.
As part of the renewed agreement, Gulf Oil will remain Piaggio India’s exclusive lubricant partner for factory fill, workshop, and retail needs in India. This includes supplying advanced BS VI oils and new fluids developed for electric vehicles, addressing the requirements of Piaggio’s expanding customer base.
Diego Graffi expressed confidence in the partnership, emphasising its role in delivering high-quality products that support vehicle performance. He noted that Gulf’s focus on the EV fluid segment complements Piaggio’s increasing emphasis on electric mobility in the commercial lightweight and three-wheeler EV segments.
The partnership combines the strengths of Gulf Oil and Piaggio India to enhance vehicle efficiency and lubricant technology, aiming to achieve advancements in product innovation and customer service.
