Greenway Mobility, an Indian electric vehicle (EV) company, has introduced its new brand, E-Vi, as part of its plans to establish a significant presence in the Indian electric three-wheeler market by 2025. The launch includes two models, Chhota Otto and Chhota Bull, priced at Rs 2 lakh each. These vehicles are expected to enter the market by the fourth quarter of FY24, with another high-speed passenger electric rickshaw, Rydan, also planned for release.
Greenway Mobility is aiming to expand its footprint across India by setting up over 100 dealerships in strategic locations by the end of 2024. The company’s growth strategy aligns with its goal of becoming a leading player in the electric three-wheeler segment by December 2025. The vehicles are designed and manufactured in India to suit local road conditions and are built with components typically found in higher-grade vehicles for enhanced durability and performance.
Chhota Otto is designed to provide stability and comfort through independent suspensions on all three wheels, while also offering foldable seats to transition between passenger and cargo uses. Chhota Bull is tailored for last-mile delivery and can carry up to 400 kilograms of payload. It features hydraulic brakes and IoT-enabled fleet management for real-time tracking.
The upcoming Rydan electric rickshaw is expected to offer advanced features such as hydraulic disk brakes on all wheels and a multi-speed automatic transmission. It is designed for improved range, performance, and features targeted at urban and rural mobility.
Greenway Mobility is also investing in research and development to diversify its product portfolio, which may include electric bikes, trikes, and compact electric cars to address various personal and professional mobility needs.
Siddharth Patel, Founder of Greenway Mobility and an alumnus of IIT Bombay and Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, emphasized the need for reliable and sustainable mobility solutions tailored to Indian conditions. He also highlighted the company’s focus on creating a robust distribution network, addressing issues such as accessibility, service infrastructure, financing options, and battery-swapping capabilities.
Harsh Raval, Co-Founder of Greenway Mobility, outlined the company’s commitment to engineering durable vehicles with high-quality components sourced from Indian suppliers. He stated that the aim is to build trust among drivers by offering efficient and dependable vehicles.
The company is open to partnerships with distributors and industry collaborators to enhance its ecosystem. Its indigenously designed products are intended to provide low maintenance and high efficiency while addressing the evolving needs of the electric three-wheeler market in India.
