New Delhi-based electric vehicle startup Creatara Mobility has launched its first set of production-ready electric scooter models: IN40 and VM4. The company has opened the bookings for these models and expects to start deliveries within a couple of months.
Creatara, set up by two IIT-Delhi graduates Vikas Gupta and Ringlarei Pamei, aims to provide safe electric two-wheelers without compromising on design and performance. “The IN40 and VM4 are the result of relentless dedication, innovation, and our mission to create products that seamlessly blend into the lifestyles of the next generation of consumers,” Gupta said.
VM4 is focused on personal mobility while IN40 targets the B2B segment. The models come in different variants using 48V and high voltage 72V electrical systems, offering a maximum speed of 110 km per hour with a range of 150 km on a single charge. They come in two battery options – 2.3 kWh and 4.3 kWh.
The models boast smart, adaptable, and safe vehicle control systems that use AI to enhance performance, personalise the ride, and improve safety. They offer portable and swappable battery packs for hassle-free charging with existing infrastructure, the company said.
Creatara claims the products, which are indigenously designed and developed, are well suited for both personal mobility as well as various business use cases. The company also said that it has set up a facility in Haryana to manufacture the products.
Prices of both models are yet to be unveiled, but the company noted that the models will be priced in such a way that they are eligible for demand incentives provided by the government.
Creatara, which has a team of 14 people including designers, engineers, and marketing professionals, spent over two years developing their portfolio. The team said they are almost ready with a couple of new electric scooter prototypes, which they are planning to unveil soon.
The startup said that it conducted extensive market research with over 5,000 two-wheeler users while developing the models, which helped them design products that align with the aspirations of Gen Z consumers.
“We don’t want to force our products into the market. We have studied what the consumer wants in terms of performance, look, and trust. So we are delivering an aspirational portfolio, which will cater to all their requirements,” Gupta said.
“Our vehicles are crafted on a versatile modular chassis, allowing each design to seamlessly adapt to a variety of uses, making them as dynamic as the world they serve,” he further added.
Creatara recently raised $1 million in funding led by GEMS Partners for R&D, testing, manufacturing, and distribution of its vehicles. It has also secured grants from the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the Department of Science, and Sona Comstar.
