Container Corporation of India Ltd (CONCOR) and GAIL (India) Ltd have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) infrastructure across CONCOR's terminals throughout India. The agreement was signed on April 23, 2025, in New Delhi.
The primary objective of the collaboration is to ensure uninterrupted supply of LNG fuel for CONCOR's road transportation requirements. Under the MoU, the companies will initially install an LNG station at CONCOR's terminal in Khodiyar, Ahmedabad. Both organizations will also explore potential collaboration in other areas of mutual interest.
The MoU was signed by Ahmed Wasi Khan, General General Manager (P&S) representing CONCOR, and Kapil Kumar Jain, Executive Director (Marketing-Retail LNG) representing GAIL. The signing ceremony was attended by Sanjay Swarup, Chairman and Managing Director of CONCOR, Sanjay Kumar, Director (Marketing) of GAIL, and senior officials from both companies.
During the ceremony, Sanjay Swarup highlighted that this agreement aligns with CONCOR's commitment to provide sustainable logistics solutions. He noted that the company has already established an LNG station at Multi-Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) Khatuwas and has procured a fleet of 130 LNG trailers, which has helped reduce carbon emissions in daily operations.
Sanjay Kumar from GAIL appreciated CONCOR's environmental initiatives and assured that GAIL is well-equipped and eager to support CONCOR's mission to provide environmentally friendly logistics solutions to customers.

The company has been working to incorporate greener technologies into its operations as part of broader sustainability goals. GAIL, under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, is India's leading natural gas company with businesses spanning the entire natural gas value chain.
