Citroën India has commenced deliveries of the Basalt. The first vehicle was delivered to a customer at the La Maison Citroën dealership in Delhi, with Citroën Brand CEO Thierry Koskas presenting the vehicle.
Deliveries of the Basalt will continue across Citroën’s dealerships nationwide. The vehicle combines the characteristics of a Coupé with the practicality of an SUV, aiming to provide a distinctive driving experience.
The Basalt is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which produces approximately 180 horsepower. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Measuring 4,700 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, the Basalt has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. It offers a fuel efficiency of around 12 km/l in city driving conditions and up to 15 km/l on highways.
The SUV Coupé features a fully independent suspension system and also includes a drive mode selector that allows drivers to choose between Eco, Normal, and Sport modes, adapting the vehicle’s performance to different driving conditions.
Inside, the Basalt is designed with leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. It includes a 5-seat configuration. The cabin is equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a fully digital instrument cluster.
Advanced driver-assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking are also featured. For added comfort, the Basalt includes dual-zone automatic climate control and adjustable power front seats with memory functions.
