BYD Set to Launch Sealion 7 Electric Vehicle in Indian Market
BYD introduces a battery that is six times lighter than conventional LVB batteries, the company said.
Chinese automotive giant BYD has announced the launch of its latest electric vehicle, the Sealion 7, in the Indian market. The new model showcases cutting-edge technology and premium features, marking another significant step in BYD's expansion into India's growing electric vehicle segment.
The Sealion 7 comes equipped with an advanced intelligence cockpit and introduces a vehicle-to-load mobile power station capability, allowing it to serve as a portable power source. At the heart of the vehicle lies BYD's proprietary Blade battery technology, complemented by an intelligent torque adaptation control system for enhanced driving dynamics.
One of the most notable features is the innovative LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) low voltage battery, which comes with an impressive 7-year 150,000 kms warranty. and 15 years lifespan. Speaking about this breakthrough, Shrirang Joshi, Head of National Sales for Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, emphasized the company's achievement in mass-producing this revolutionary battery technology. "BYD introduces a battery that is six times lighter than conventional LVB batteries, and we're proud to be the world's first mass production company for LFP LVB," Joshi stated.
The Sealion 7 will be available in two variants - Premium and Performance - catering to different customer preferences and driving styles. Power comes from a substantial 82.56 kWh battery pack, enabling the vehicle to achieve a maximum range of 567 kilometers on a single charge, addressing range anxiety concerns among potential electric vehicle buyers.
BYD has opened bookings for the Sealion 7 starting today, allowing interested customers to secure their vehicles early. The company's decision to launch this technologically advanced model in India reflects the growing demand for premium electric vehicles in the market and demonstrates BYD's commitment to the Indian automotive sector.
This launch aligns with India's push toward electric mobility and comes at a time when the country is witnessing increased adoption of electric vehicles across various segments.
