BMW has launched the XM Label in India at Rs 3.15 crore (ex-showroom). The XM Label is the most powerful car produced by BMW’s M division. Apart from the mechanical upgrades, the XM Label also gets red elements on the outside and inside over the standard version of the SUV.

Unveiled globally as the XM Label Red in April last year, it has been renamed to 'XM Label' for India. Powering the XM Label is the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine as the standard car. However, the engine is tuned to produce 748hp and 1,000Nm of peak torque. These figures are 95hp and 200Nm higher than the regular XM. However, as compared to the standard XM’s 82-89km electric-only range, the XM Label offers a claimed range of 76-82km, despite being packed with the same  25.7kWh battery pack.

BMW claims that the XM Label can sprint from 0-100kph in just 3.8 seconds, before topping out at an electronically limited top speed of 250kph. The top speed figure rises to 290kph with the optional M Driver’s Package. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels through the M xDrive all-wheel drive system.

The XM Label gets unique red elements on the outside such as the kidney grille surround, rear diffuser insert, model badges, window frame surround & shoulder line and wheel inserts. The car is finished in BMW Individual Frozen Carbon Black metallic and comes with 22-inch M light alloy wheels. On the inside, the XM Label gets dual-tone black and red seats in an all-black cabin, with contrasting red stitching and inserts here and there.

Only 500 units of the XM will be produced globally - of which only 1 unit is being brought to India. To mark the XM Label’s exclusivity, it comes equipped with a plaque below the control display reading “1 of 500.”

Features on offer include the latest iteration of BMW’s Curved Display that consists of a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a head-up display, a dedicated Boost mode, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system with 20 speakers and a 1,475-watt amplifier, six airbags, Active Roll Stabilisation, Dynamic Brake Control, and much more. It also gets BMW’s Adaptive M Suspension Professional.

As compared to the standard XM (Rs 2.60 crore), the XM Label is priced at a premium of Rs 55 lakh. The XM puts up against luxury performance SUVs such as the Lamborghini Urus, Audi RSQ8 and the Aston Martin DBX.
