BMW Group India achieved its highest-ever year-to-date (YTD) car sales for the period January to September 2024, recording a 10% growth with 10,556 units sold. The company delivered 10,056 BMW units and 500 MINI units, along with 5,638 motorcycles from BMW Motorrad.

Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, stated that the company’s sales performance reflects a successful strategy and strong customer experience. The long wheelbase models, such as the BMW 7 Series, BMW 3 Series, and BMW X1, have performed well, with significant demand for the newly launched BMW 5 Series Long Wheelbase, which has already garnered over 300 sales and an order bank exceeding 600 units.

BMW India’s electric vehicle (EV) segment remains strong with 725 electric BMW and MINI vehicles delivered in YTD Q3 2024, with the BMW i7 being the best-selling BMW EV. BMW Group India now offers six electric cars, including the BMW i7, i5, i4, iX, and iX1, and the MINI Countryman Electric, alongside two electric scooters, the BMW Motorrad CE 04 and CE 02. The company also crossed 2,000 EV deliveries, with the BMW iX being the most popular luxury EV, selling over 1,000 units.

BMW India maintains one of the largest fast-charging networks across 51 cities and provides additional customer services such as complimentary home chargers, destination charging, and smart e-routing, fostering trust in electric mobility.

The company also leads in the long wheelbase luxury car segment, offering the BMW 7 Series, BMW 5 Series, and BMW 3 Series models designed with Indian customers in mind. These vehicles have become highly successful due to their enhanced space and comfort.

In the luxury segment, BMW Luxury Class vehicles, which include the BMW 7 Series, BMW i7, BMW X7, and BMW XM, contributed 17% to total sales. The BMW X7 was the highest-selling model in this class, with new exclusive editions like the BMW X7 Signature contributing to the brand’s reputation for luxury.

Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) accounted for 55% of BMW’s sales in India, with the BMW X1 leading the segment, contributing around 20% of overall sales. The BMW 3 Series was the highest-selling sedan, with a 19% share in sales.

BMW India Financial Services continues to play a crucial role in BMW and MINI sales, with seven out of 10 vehicles financed through its 360° finance plan. The plan offers low monthly instalments, assured buyback options, and flexible end-of-term choices. Additionally, festive offers like BMW Joy Days include exclusive financing with interest rates as low as 7.75% per annum and EMI plans starting from Rs 49,999 on select models.
