Audi India teases upcoming Q8 facelift ahead of launch this month
The Q8 facelift is likely to retain 3.0-litre V6 engine.
Audi India has teased the upcoming Q8 facelift, with a launch set to take place on August 22. Globally unveiled last September, the Q8 will retain its position as Audi’s flagship SUV offering in the country.
The video released by Audi teases its new grille with octagonal apertures and ‘L’-shaped inserts, its revised HD Matrix LED headlamps, and the new digital OLED tail-lights. The overall coupe shape remains unaltered. The coupe-SUV gets five new alloy wheel designs overseas.
The interiors are almost identical to the outgoing car, with changes limited to different stitching on the upholstery and new interior colour schemes. It will continue to offer Audi’s twin MMI touchscreens; four-zone climate control; a head-up display; heated, ventilated and massaging seats; and a Bang & Olufsen hi-fi system.
The India-spec Q8 is expected to carry over its 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system that produces 340hp and 500Nm. As standard, the engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
The existing Q8 is priced between Rs 1.07 crore and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom, India), and the facelifted model will see a slight step up. The Q8 facelift will have no direct rivals upon arrival, but the coupe-SUV will serve as an alternative to more traditional SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.
