Atlas Copco Opens Smart Factory Innovation Centre in Pune to Advance Industry 4.0
New facility showcases automation technologies and serves as a hub for smart manufacturing solutions across automotive, aerospace, electronics, and industrial sectors.
Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems inaugurated its first Smart Factory Innovation Centre in India. Located in Pune, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to showcase cutting-edge technologies that power Smart Integrated Assembly ecosystems and advance Industry 4.0 initiatives.
The Innovation Centre serves as a hub for businesses across automotive, aerospace, electronics, heavy machinery, and manufacturing sectors to explore next-generation automation and smart manufacturing solutions. Visitors can experience first-hand the latest advancements in torquing and dispensing technologies, along with software-driven solutions that optimize manufacturing efficiency, build process flexibility, and support sustainability goals.
Mr. Chandrashekhar Pathak, General Manager, Industrial Technique, Atlas Copco India Pvt. The facility offers several features, including demonstrations of automated tightening and dispensing technologies that enhance precision and productivity, error-proofing solutions that integrate into production environments to reduce defects and rework, and seamlessly integrated software solutions that provide intelligent insights for quality control and zero-defect manufacturing.
By creating a central hub for experimentation, testing, and problem-solving, Atlas Copco Tools aims to drive the adoption of smart manufacturing technologies in India and beyond, supporting businesses in achieving enhanced productivity, sustainability, and quality.
Atlas Copco Group operates in four business areas: compressed air and vacuum solutions, energy solutions, dewatering and industrial pumps, and industrial power tools and assembly and machine vision solutions. In 2024, the Group reported revenues of BSEK 177 with approximately 55,000 employees. Atlas Copco India started operations in 1960 and had over 3,000 employees with revenues of about INR 4,700 crore as of March 31, 2024.
