Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer and flagship company of the Hinduja Group, unveiled its new premium entry-level Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), 'SAATHI,' at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi.
SAATHI is built using advanced LNT technology, delivering a power output of 45 HP, a torque of 110 Nm, and offering a loading area that is 24% larger than competitors. The vehicle features a payload capacity of 1,120 kg, efficient mileage, and larger tires for enhanced performance. The LNT technology eliminates the need for AdBlue, simplifying operations and reducing maintenance concerns. It comes with a five-year or two-lakh-kilometer warranty and has been priced at ₹6,49,999 for the Fixed Side Deck variant.
Executive Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja stated that Ashok Leyland is committed to introducing new technologies and transforming road transport. He noted that SAATHI, along with other vehicles launched at the event, underlines the company’s efforts to enhance customer value and explore opportunities in international markets. MD and CEO Shenu Agarwal emphasized that SAATHI aims to challenge the perception that entry-level commercial vehicles require compromises in power, loading capacity, and safety.
Ashok Leyland also showcased the GARUD 15, a fully built 15-meter premium bus designed for intercity travel. It features 42 sleeper berths, a spacious luggage compartment, and a gross vehicle weight of 22,500 kg. The bus includes advanced features such as an adjustable driver seat, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) for improved safety and comfort.
Another notable product on display was the eTIRAN, India’s first electric port-terminal tractor. Designed for port operations, the vehicle offers a customizable battery range of 180 to 350 kilometers and includes an air-conditioned cabin with a 360-degree view, hill-start assist, and safety features like ADAS. The eTIRAN aims to provide sustainable solutions for port freight operators with a focus on reducing total cost of ownership.
